Mom - It's not Just a Word

How is it that young mothers today continue to live as if their children are babydolls that they can put on a shelf and come back to later? Babies do not understand why you leave or how much time has passed before you come back. Aren't you concerned about when they cry, if they are fed on time, or even if the person tending to your child really cares if any of their needs are met.

I have always considered my children every step of the way. I believe wholeheartedly that children remember you when they are young and the things you put them through. I remember when I was a child my sister spent a lot of time with my brother and me. She would take us to the park, movies, pool, and even hold me in her arms and sing to me until I fell to sleep. Sure, we made her nuts a couple of times and she would give us a spanking but I never remember being abused or neglected.

My children and I talk about when they were young and what they remember about the times we spent together. I know quite a few who, no matter how much I try to stress to them the importance of keeping their children safe and loved, continue to go about their business without regard for their children.

How about the ladies that allow a man to enter their lives and tell their children what to do. I know that there are plenty of relationships where your significant other has come into your life, taken your children under wing, and have shown them that there does not have to be a biological connection to love unconditionally and I commend them for that.

What about the ones who do not know how to love someone else's child. Have you ever heard of the "lion syndrome." The lion enters the Pride, battles the male and wins. The newcomer proceeds to kill off each and every cub that is not his own. He then takes over the Pride, mates with the female lions and starts his own pride.

A classic case of the Lion Syndrome - On "True TV" the guy enters the store with his girlfriend's child and behind the store shelves where he thought no one would see he begins to beat the child, hit him when he opens the refrigerator door, and then walks away as if nothing ever happened. The child was about two years old, if that. Thankfully, there was a store video camera that caught the whole thing and after airing it on the news the man was arrested and charged. Could you imagine how that child's mother felt or was she the type to put the child on the shelf and come back for him when she was ready to be a mom again?

Ladies, when you bring a child into this world, he/she is your responsibility to keep safe and love til death do you part. Never say "He has a father let him deal with the baby." Remember, the baby doesn't know why you leave or how long it will be before you get back. They only know that you are their mother and they love you unconditionally and it is your job to love them back and keep them safe from harm. So, when your baby cries, before you leave him somewhere, stop and think are you making the right decision. You DID decide to bring him/her into this world didn't you?

Don't take the chance because it only takes a second to harm a child. Once that is done there is no going back!

Reality Shows - Would You Air Your Dirty Laundry??

I checked out "Bad Girls Club" reality reunion last night and also caught "Chance for Real Love" the other day.

WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING....

Could the money be that good or is it the 15 minutes of fame? Most of the time, I see these people putting their dirty laundry out there for EVERYONE to see. Yikes!!! I'm not quite sure if that 15 minutes of fame or pay will help or sabatoge their reputation.

"Bad Girls Club" reunion showed alot of hostility and raunchy behavior. Would these ladies keepsake this time in their lives and show it to their children or grandchildren for that matter?

What a disgrace!

I know, I know.... I stopped and watched - this is true. It was pure entertainment and the "how not to behave" lesson of the day.

That brings me to "Chance for Real Love". These boys - cause I won't call them men - take these insecure girls - cause they don't deserve to be called women - and do with them what they will. Come on girls... Don't you want to be respected? Do you think after you have been used and abused some man out there will say "Huh, now there is a girl I want to bring home to Mama", probably not.

Reality Shows - Pure entertainment or the "Don't let this Happen to YOU" lessons to be learned??

You be the judge.

Visit Bad Girls Club at http://www.oxygen.com/tvshows/badgirls/ and Real Chance for Love at www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/real_chance_of_love/series.jhtml for pictures, videos, and all the drama!!

Relationships - So You Think There Isn't Anything That Could Wrong...

Isn't it interesting how you meet someone and everything is peaches and cream. You think to yourself - FINALLY - someone who understands me, who can relate and love me for me. So you take the plunge, hold no punches, love like you never thought you could - THEN BLAM!!!!!!!

Where do you go from here?? It's been years, houses, children, YOUR LIFE and there you are in the fork on the road. If you go to right, you're free. If you go to the left, more drama. You can't help but think to yourself... what about the kids, the house, MY YEARS...

I believe, if you are with someone, you should be happy. Sure, there are little things, because you love, you overlook - but should you overlook the unthinkable? I think NOT!!

Hold on now..... This goes out to men and women alike. When we sacrifice, it is done on both sides. However, you tell me why??? Why is it that one or the other always manages to risk it all for five minutes of a naughty thrill. Think about.... What about the person you risked it all with? Where are they now?? May be home with their significant other as if nothing ever happened. Where are you?? Home with your family or standing outside trying to figure a way to make it right....

For those who have experienced the unthinkable, are you still standing in the fork on the road or have you take the road on the right??

Getting Paid to Blog....

Well, its been a week and things are moving right along for my blog in the world of blogging. Now that I can see traffic, I wanted to check and see what options are available to get paid to blog.

I came accross http://www.payingpost.com/ and it is pretty simple to set up. Presently, I'm awaiting approval for my blog. What I like is that it shows the three options you have for making money with Payingpost.com right on the first page you visit. No need to read fine print of this or that. Just follow the information on the first page and sit back, relax and wait for your approval to begin making money. In my research of blogging, what I have found is that keeping it simple and to the point is the best way to promote your blog.

Payingpost.com seems like they too are simple to the point.

Gas Prices - $1.79?????!!!!!

So, I'm driving to work this morning and there it is $1.79 a gallon. WOW!!!! and to think just about a month or so ago we were all paying $3 and $4 and in some places $5 a gallon. I'm pretty happy to see gas prices back to reasonable, especially with the holiday season.

I visited http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2006/fueling.america/ a got a pretty good insight on Energy, Environment, and Alternatives. It's good to see that we are looking into alternatives especially concrete states like NYC. The smog chokes our environment and causes illnesses not to mention Global Warming. Thankfully, Global Warming is now out in the open and we know something has to be done.

Take a moment and visit http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2006/fueling.america/ and judge for yourself where this Earth will be in 20 years. I know I vote for alternative energy. Let's make energy friendly cars, use solar energy, wind power, water, etc. I know, I know there are downfalls also but something needs to be done or our children will have no Earth to continue living in.

I must point out once again our President-Elect Barack Obama. You can visit his site and see where he stands on these issues and what are his plans for our Earth's future.

Netflix on XBOX 360!!

That's right, folks.... Netflix is now on Xbox 360 and my son immediately put his request in to have a membership. Soon after he asked, my youngest who has his own Xbox 360 and stays next door with my mom put in his request. It was pretty reasonable for upto four different receivers; however, the more receivers the more the membership. For example, one receiver $8.99, two receivers $13.99 and so on....

Once all steps are completed you can put upto 500 movies and TV shows in queue. We are just getting to know how this new wave of technology plays out and I'll keep you posted (pardon the pun..). We did watch our first movie "Somebody Help Me." I wasn't too happy with the gore and suspense, yuck! It was pretty ugly, folks. I prefer comedy, thank you.

In the meantime, check it out for yourself at http://www.netflix.com/. I'll give it one thumb up and keep you posted and two thumbs up possibilities.
